About Us

Overview

The Sidama Regional State Aid Coordination and Disaster Risk Management Commission (SDRM) was established to lead, coordinate, and implement disaster risk management and humanitarian aid efforts across the Sidama region. Our mandate encompasses all phases of disaster management — from preparedness and early warning to response, recovery, and building long-term resilience.

Background

The Sidama region is prone to a variety of hazards including droughts, floods, landslides, disease outbreaks, and occasional conflicts. Recognizing these challenges, the regional government established the DRM Commission in 2018 to consolidate disaster management efforts and improve coordination.

Vision

A disaster-resilient Sidama region where communities are safe, prepared, and empowered to withstand and recover from shocks.

Mission

To coordinate and implement integrated disaster risk management and humanitarian aid programs that protect lives, livelihoods, and development gains in the Sidama region.

Core Values

Integrity: We act with transparency, accountability, and honesty.
Excellence: We strive for the highest standards.
